There’s this totally embarrassing thing that I’ve been doing for the past year and I’m going to let it all hang out. See, when I was touring, we were on a plane at least twice a week. And you know how you have to have all of your carry-on small toiletries in a Ziploc baggie these days? Well, I just left all of my purse stuff — lipgloss, lotion, etc. — right in that Ziploc baggie and carried it in my purse all the time. It was way easier than taking them out, putting them back in, over and over and over.

But then tour ended, and I literally have had the same Ziploc baggie in my purse for over a year now. I’ve become accustomed to it and I’ll open it to take out lipgloss or something, and everyone around me starts laughing hysterically. I know it’s awful! I mean, I’m usually way cooler than that. I swear.

Cut to me, searching high and low for the perfect little pouch to put all my goodies in, with no luck. So I decided to make one. I’ll spare you the instructions, because I used this tutorial over at Noodlehead, which is great. I just made mine a slightly different shape, so if you’re looking to do the same, your measurements should be as follows:

  • Use a 7″ zipper.
  • Start with fabric squares that are 7″ x 7″.
  • When boxing the corners, mark your line at 1.5″ rather than 3.5″.

Other than that, all the instructions are the same! And if you need a little sparkle (which is always a yes), just sew some sequins in a pattern on the front. Can’t go wrong with a heart, can you?

There. Now all my friends can stop making fun of me. xoxo
