DIY Painted Mini Pumpkins
I’ve done it. It’s the perfect September DIY! It’s half summer, half fall, entirely simple, and you can use it over and over. It’s a painted rainbow of mini pumpkins! I was itchy to put something fall-ish in the studio but the vibe in there isn’t exactly muted shades and earth tones, ya know what I mean? So I found some faux mini pumpkins (they have every kind of pumpkin you could possibly want!) at Michaels and went to town with the spray paint.
This one is so simple it doesn’t even need instructions — just spray those pumpkins! Obviously do it outside, somewhere well-ventilated. We put two coats on the tops of our pumpkins, then flipped ’em and did a coat on the bottom. These actually took the spray paint really well and the coverage was awesome. We used Krylon spray paint, which you can also get at Michaels – be sure to check the finish before you buy. Most of these are glossy but I think they’d look pretty cool in a flat finish too. And I have to confess — the gold one ended up in there because I ran out of yellow paint but I kinda love it.
By the by, here’s what the pumpkins looked like before:
It’s a fun change, right? I think it took about 10 minutes for the whole thing. In case you can’t tell, speedy is my middle name these days. 😉 xoxo
Love them, the colours are great 🙂
Love the colors and perfect for September!
So cute! And nice try on the “I didn’t mean to make this one gold!” We’re all on to you.
These are so cute! Love faux painted pumpkins – no muss, no fuss, lol.
