With our first holiday season where we’ll finally have a dining room, I’m completely excited to host family and friends for lots of holiday gatherings. It’s just my favorite time of year — I love having people over, setting a pretty table, and just enjoying being together over a good meal. We made this golden DIY for our gatherings this year, so that we’d have a fresh new table runner for the season. It’s shimmery and awesome and so simple that once you get the supplies you’ll be able to make it in about 15 minutes. (Pssst — there’s also a link below to get the matching printable place cards!) We teamed with Kendall-Jackson to put it all together, and raised a glass to celebrate the holidays.

Materials

Make Time: 15 Minutes

Step 1: Cut your canvas fabric to the length and width you’d like for your table runner.

Step 2: Using your paintbrush, dip into the transfer adhesive and paint thick brushstrokes down the center of the runner. Paint them any length or size you like — you can’t go wrong! We varied ours from about 2″ to 4″ long, and spaced them at random.

Step 3: Cut a strip of the foil heat transfer material to the length of your runner and lay it down on top of the entire area where you’ve painted the adhesive, gold side up. Smooth and press down with your hands.

Step 4: Run a hot iron over all areas where there is adhesive, placing the iron directly down on the gold transfer. Press each section with lots of downward pressure for about 8-10 seconds.

Step 5: Peel away the piece of transfer material and you should have your gold brushstrokes on your runner!

Put that baby on your table and set it all up! You can see more tips on how we set our fun holiday table over on the Kendall-Jackson blog, where you can also get the free printable for our place cards. Don’t forget to bring along your favorite wine so you can toast each other — right now I’m loving the K-J AVANT Red Blend, which is so perfect and cozy for fall and winter. (It’s an awesome compliment to lots of holiday comfort foods, and goes great with our favorite stew recipe too!) Cheers! xoxo
