Guys, spring is definitely on the way here in California and I’m so excited about it. Trees are blooming, the sun is coming out to play, and I have the itch to freshen up a few corners of the house with fun spring touches! The other day I grabbed a few new plants and wanted to find something a little bit funky to put them in, so I whipped up these girly planters. I’m pumped to be partnering with Glade to put together this little DIY, perfect for adding some punch to your spring decor!

I was totally inspired by the Poppy Groove fragrance — the color and the scent both feel bright and vibrant and downright playful. These little girlies are the perfect partners to cozy up to Glade’s candles and wax melt warmers. The whole gang is dressing up my work table in the office and it feels so fun and springy. Here’s how to make your own!

Materials

  • gold adhesive vinyl
  • scissors and craft knife (or cutting machine)
  • small bowls or planters (I used these)
  • small plants or succulents
  • potting soil

Make Time: 30 Minutes

Start by cutting out your girlies’ face shapes. I went with a variety of mouths and eyes. If you like the ones I used, you can download the file right here! (The file contains two different sizes in case your bowls are a little larger than mine.) Cut out the shapes from gold vinyl and stick them on your bowls.

Next, repot your plants into the bowls. Remove the plants from their containers and gently massage the roots so that they fit into your bowls. Nestle a plant down into a bowl and pack around the edges of the bowl with extra potting soil. Once your plants are cozy inside the bowls, give them a sprinkle of water to welcome them to their new home.

Dust off the outside of the bowls with a clean towel and set your playful little girlies out to welcome the spring!

  1. Oh I love these, so cute! They look like LEGO heads to me. I reckon LEGO should totally bring out female characters with baby pink heads and sunglasses! 🙂
