I have a new obsession and it’s called packing tape image transfer. Have you ever done this?! You guys, it’s one of those crafting techniques that is so simple but so cool to see happen. I kind of can’t stop doing it — I have stacks of image transfers just waiting to find a home in a collage or on something awesome. And as luck would have it, we’re entering into the perfect season to use this handy skill on some totally fun, funky, one-of-a-kind gift wrap! I started wrapping prezzies for my little teenage cousins and I think they’re gonna flip out for it.

I learned the technique with Creativebug — have you heard of them? If you’re crafty, you definitely need to know this gang. For a few bucks a month, you get unlimited access to this insane library of videos teaching techniques and how-tos in all kinds of different skills and mediums. There’s everything from weaving to watercolor and more, and the instructors are all legit and so talented (I had the opportunity to learn from a few of them in person earlier this year!). One thing I particularly like is that you can download a mobile app and watch the videos wherever. I took the image transfer class out in my garage while Henry was napping! Ha!

Just look at this big beautiful mess of image transfers, y’all:

I had a stack of magazines that were waiting to be read (right, like moms have time to read magazines?!) but they were the perfect source for some cool images to transfer. A little packing tape, a little magic, and BOOM these gifty beauties were born. I won’t spoil the surprise in case you want to take the class, but suffice it to say that this is just one transfer technique and they get cooler and cooler. Depending on the method, you can transfer onto paper, wood, chipboard, art journals, all kinds of stuff.

And now some super good news? Creativebug is running a few really killer deals for the holidays so you can try it out! Now until November 30, you can test it out free for a month if you use code COZYCRAFTS. Isn’t that the coolest? Give it a try and I promise there are a whole mess of classes you’ll want to take, especially if you’re starting to make holiday gifts.

And now let’s talk about the really important things. What would you put your image transfers on?! I just plastered a bunch on my refrigerator and you probably should too. xoxo
