DIY Floral Bicycle Handlebars
I have been wanting to put this project together for absolutely ever, and when Trader Joe’s peonies are in season it’s hard to resist. Gaaahhhh what is it about peonies?
I know they’re everyone’s favorite flower in the world and blah blah blah, but they totally deserve it. They’re just so ruffly and amazing. And obviously perfect for decorating your bicycle handlebars, right?! It looks so fancy but I promise it’s a piece of cake. So piece-of-cakey, in fact, that it’ll just take you a few minutes. Let’s do it.
(Here’s another way to arrange Trader Joe’s flowers, by the way!)
Materials
- your sweet bike
- large, ruffly florals like peonies or garden roses
- extra greenery for filler
- floral wire
- scissors
Make Time: 15 Minutes
Grab a large flower, trim away the greenery from the stem, and cut the stem off at about 4 inches. Cut a piece of floral wire to about 5 inches. Hold the bloom over your handlebar and use the wire to affix the flower firmly. Repeat this process with large blooms across your handlebars.
Fill in any blank spots with greenery or smaller flowers like carnations. While you’re filling in, you can probably just wedge the stems of the greenery into the wires that are already holding your flowers, rather than wiring each individual piece. Fluff everything up and roll out!
We had so much fun cruising around town with my handlebars all decked out. If you try this one, be ready to get lots of smiles and comments from friendly folks who are into your flowers! xoxo

OMG! Great idea! I will definitely make something like this for my daughter bike, she would love that 🙂
This is so lovely! I just adore peonies and have also used some to make a flower bicycle bell last year! 🙂
