If you’re in charge of the decor this Easter, try this fresh and pretty idea! It’s a charming and quick project, where real eggs act as vases for beautiful fresh florals.

This delicate little project looks so pretty on a table, especially with these lovely poppies (in my opinion). And speaking of poppies, aren’t they such an incredible flower? I didn’t used to like them much but now I think they’re so beautiful and kind of sculptural but still ruffly.

It’s the best of all the flower worlds. So let’s make some centerpieces!

Supplies You’ll Need

Make Time: 1 Hour (Plus Drying Time)

  1. Start by emptying out your egg shells. Carefully score a round hole in the top of the egg and cut it away with a sharp knife. Empty out the yolk and white (you can freeze them to save for later!). Wash out the inside of the egg with warm soapy water and let them dry thoroughly.
  2. Once dry, paint the upper half of the egg a bright spring green. While the paint is still slightly wet, paint the lower half of the egg a slightly darker green. Blend the two colors together a bit at the border for an ombre effect.
  3. Fill each egg about halfway with water and place them in your egg crate.
  4. Cut the stems of your flowers to about 1-2 inches, depending on the size of your eggs. Insert flowers into the eggs. Arrange the flowers to your liking, being sure that each egg is full enough of flowers so that they remain upright and don’t fall out the side.

Ideas To Try With Your Centerpiece

To fill out the center of your table, here are a few ideas you might try!

  • Clip off a few succulents and place them around the florals to bulk up the Easter centerpiece.
  • Lay down a table runner and create a few of these centerpieces, spacing them out down the table.
  • Get individual egg cups and place one floral egg in each cup, at each guest’s place.

Set it out on your table for Easter and celebrate! xoxo
