diy birthday card
One of our beautiful Madagascar girls had a birthday recently, and I decided to celebrate with a little DIY for her. I’d been wanting to try a (super-simple) pop-up card for a while, and this seemed as good a time as any! I cut out letters spelling “Happy Birthday,” glued and glittered them, and then affixed them to a slim strip of cardstock.

Then I cut a card from the same sheet of cardstock, and affixed the strip of letters to the inside, making sure the letters bent at the right place when the card folded. I glued the ends of the strip of letters about half an inch away from the edges of the card so that the lettering would stand out when the card opened.
A couple of hand-written messages, and that’s all she wrote! A simple, spangly, sweet birthday message. xoxo

Nice! And very simple! You mind if I borrow the idea for a card of my own?
OMG! what a wonderful and delicate idea!

I made a simple DIY pop-up birthday card by cutting out “Happy Birthday” letters, glittering them, and attaching them to a strip of cardstock. I glued the strip inside the card so the letters would pop up when opened.
