Hey hey, Monday lovers!  How’s about this for a color fest?  Today’s pool-blue color reminds me of long days spent by the pool last summer at the Sarasota Ritz Carlton.  Now that was the life!  This blue hue makes me feel the sun on my shoulders and I immediately want to dip my toes in the water.  Do you guys have a favorite poolside hangout?  I’m thinking that since I can’t make it to a pool these days I’ll just spend some time gazing longingly at today’s post.  Have a great week!  xoxo

a photo a day for a year

So as those of you who have been following my Photo a Day for a Year project may know, the site has been down for a few days now.  It actually got hacked, and it’s been kind of tricky to get it back in working order.  So since I’m the only one of the Photo a Day crew left doing the challenge, I decided to finish it out here!  I’m a few days behind because of the technical issues, so this post should catch us up.  After today, if you’re interested in seeing the Photo a Day, just come to the blog and it’ll be here — click on A Photo a Day up in the header.

weekend

I’m so excited for the weekend.  I have zero plans except for my adorable book club on Sunday evening (we’re reading this book — have you read it?).  Otherwise, I’m taking it very easy after a pretty crazy week.  Sounds lovely to me.

Also, I can’t tell you how much I’ve absolutely loved reading your thoughts on this post!  You are all so thoughtful and have such interesting input.  I just love that we have a place like this where we can share and chat as though we were all sitting around a table with a cup of tea.  If you missed it, I’d love to hear your story: read the full post about married names here.

friday favorites

Happy Friday, sweet things!  A random stream of consciousness for you:

I know that the font I used today is kind of hard to read.  It’s not meant to be used this way really, but I just bought it and I’m obsessed with it and it wanted to come out and play.  Also, next week is our one-year anniversary of Friday Favorites!  I’m thinking of doing a grand finale and then switching up our Friday ritual.  Whaddaya think?  Any other bright ideas of how we could wrap up every week?  It’s so nice to look back and take stock of the week (and to take some time to be grateful), but maybe there’s another way we could do it.  I’m open to suggestions!  Give me a great idea for a new Friday column and I’ll hop to it.
