Toodling around on the internet the other day, I came across a photography blog that had me instantly smitten.  The photographer is Jason Lee, and the subjects, for the most part, are his two impossibly adorable daughters, Kristin and Kayla.  What’s so endearing about this blog, though, is not only Jason’s fantastic photography, but also his ingenius creativity and photo editing skills.  Put it all together, and here’s a little taste of what you get.

See what I mean?  Don’t you just wanna spend a day in their house as a fly on the wall?  And I can only imagine Kristin and Kayla  looking at these photos as they grow up – talk about the coolest memories ever, caught on film.  Jason also takes lovely photos of weddings, engagements, and the like — go here to see some more of his beautiful work.  And just because they’re so great, I’ll leave you with one more of my favorites.  xoxo

It’s been way too long.  If you took me to the beach today, here’s what I’d wear.

A Victoria’s Secret bright yellow retro one-piece, with a J. Crew crisp white men’s shirt {4} as a beach cover-up.  I’d shade my eyes with a straw fedora {2} and some killer Ray Ban aviators {1}.  I’d toss sunscreen, snacks, and a stack of glossy mags into my roomy straw tote bag {3}, and toss on some gold bangles {4} for good measure.

Now, who’s coming to pick me up?  I’ll bring snacks for you, too.  xoxo

This is my first time in Indianapolis, and so far — no complaining here.  The sun was shining as we rolled into town, the hotel greeted us with hot apple cider, and there’s a pretty great mall a few blocks away.  What else does a girl need?  xoxo

This little tour we’re on seems to be taking us to all of the places where Spring has not yet sprung — I feel like we’re following the cold!  After a brief respite from the chilly weather this weekend (thanks, Memphis!), I decided that this week’s Pretty Little Pictures should be dedicated to Spring.  Enjoy.  xoxo

I’ve been waiting for a bit to post these little cuties, so I’m pretty excited to feature them for you today! Mr. Lovely and I hemmed and hawed for quite a while about how to label place settings at our wedding reception. We wanted something a little quirky (surprise, surprise) yet easy to read, and something that was well-integrated with the rest of our crazy ideas.  Out shopping one day, we saw these tags in Forever 21 (don’t judge us) and got totally inspired.

We went to an office supply store and bought some pre-strung manilla shipping labels. (They’re Avery brand, size 3 3/4 x 1 7/8.  We got 150 pieces for about $10 total.) Mustaches and lips have been popping up in different places during our planning, so we wanted to incorporate them here, too. I carved some rubber stamps from pink erasers (see the full DIY post here), and set them aside.

Then, Mr. Lovely, who is now a champion on our vintage Smith-Corona typewriter, sat down and typed out everybody’s first name and last initial, one name per card. After that, boys got a mustache stamp and girls got lips. (In case you’re catching up, that little typewriter is a trooper. We also used it to ask bridesmaids and groomsmen to be in the wedding, and to address our Save-the-Dates.  At the reception, it’ll be part of the guestbook table.)

We tied a knot on the end of the strings attached to each tag, and our plan is to tie the strings to the back of each person’s chair, so the tags will flutter in the breeze. (Also, it’ll keep a little clutter off the tables!) xoxo

Know what?  Here’s what:  Memphis is awesome.  We’re staying just a few blocks from Beale Street, which is up to its ears in killer rib joints and live music.  The walk to the Orpheum Theatre, where we’ll be playing this weekend, is lined with cool shops and fun restaurants.  And this morning, a few of our cast members headed across town to visit the former home of the King himself — Elvis Presley chose to make his home here, so it must be cool.  Enjoy these photos from Graceland, Beale Street, and downtown Memphis, where Spring has finally sprung.  xoxo
